Worth every penny We done the 2 day inka trail to Machu Picchu with Christian as our guide. I can’t speak highly enough of our guide Christian, he went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. He is also a trained biologist so he had a lot of knowledge of all the plants and wildlife whilst trekking through the rainforest which added further to the experience. We absolutely loved this experience and is worth every penny. I would recommend this company and tour guide to any friends or family visiting macchu picchu as it felt more personal to us rather than in a big group setting.

Bravo Christian Amazing experience, really well organised and informative! We got really lucky with the weather and especially with our tour guide Christian he was full of great energy and knowledge which made the trip even more enjoyable. After arriving from a comfortable and well planned journey with John who left us on the train which was an experience in itself we met Christian at the station, unfortunately I hurt my ankle in the first 5mins but he was well prepared with a pole to assist me and we soldiered on. From there the day was perfect and Cristian positive energy and great banter made the days thoroughly enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this company, Thank you!

The BEST guides for MP by far I can’t begin to say how happy I am with the service that Macchu Picchu provided. We were impacted by the train crash and our itinerary had to change. They took care of all the changes, ticket updates, standing in line for information and then getting us on the first train out the next day. The train was still delayed for 4 hours and the station was as chaos. John ran around all morning keeping on top of everything. A stressful situation, but having John taking care of everything was so lucky. We relaxed and left it in his hands. When our family wit teenagers finally made it, The Macchu Picchu tour was conducted by Charly. He was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about MP. He had so much pride in what the Inca built and he immersed us in the stories. He didn’t rush us and we really got to experience the wonder of Macchu Picchu. I will recommend them to anyone that asks. 1000/10

Fantastic, loving and memorable experience Our trip was fantastic from the start to very last minute and even beyond. I started to organize the trip with John already a long time ago and the whole time communication was excellent. I traveled to Machu Picchu with my blind dad. We had the best tour guide on our 4 day trip, Edwin, who was amazingly patient, loving and caring. My father, who can't see a thing, felt safe the whole time and taken care of. We were crazy to do this trip but I am so glad we picked this company. Everything was so well organized- Our cook Alejandro, was very very good and all the staff with us; thank you Marion, Emiliano, Prudencio, Juan, Willy, Alejandro and Rodolfo. Thank you the whole team!!

Resolve your doubts about Machu Picchu Tours

We want you to be sure that Machu Picchu Tours is the best company to go with you on your dream trip, here are the answers to some doubts you may have about us. If you have any other question contact us and we weill answer it for you.

Our payment methods include credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and PayPal, providing flexibility and convenience for our customers. To ensure a smooth booking experience, we recommend confirming the available payment options at the time of reservation.

Booking your Machu Picchu tour well in advance is essential, especially during peak seasons. For popular treks like the Inca Trail, it’s recommended to reserve your spot at least seven months prior to your desired departure date, as permits tend to sell out quickly.

For other tours, such as the Huayna Picchu mountain hike, advance booking is also necessary due to limited daily permits.

At Machu Picchu Tours, we offer unique experiences that include transportation, expert guides, entrance fees, and personalized options so you can enjoy your visit to the fullest.

Machu Picchu has several restrictions to preserve the site and ensure visitor safety. Some key rules include: visitors must enter with an official ticket and passport, large backpacks are not allowed, drones and tripods are prohibited, and certain areas have limited access. Additionally, you must follow designated routes and respect time limits. We recommend checking official guidelines before your visit.

To fully enjoy your visit to Machu Picchu, we recommend bringing: a valid passport and entry ticket, comfortable walking shoes, light clothing with layers, a rain jacket or poncho, sunscreen, insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, and some snacks. A small backpack is allowed, but large bags must be stored outside. Don’t forget your camera (without a tripod) to capture the breathtaking views!

Since Cusco is located at a high altitude (3,400m / 11,154ft), we recommend arriving at least 2 days prior to your trek to properly acclimatize. Our guides are trained to recognize symptoms of altitude sickness and always carry medical oxygen and first-aid kits on high-altitude treks like Salkantay or Ausangate.

Yes, absolutely. One of our core values is providing personalized service. If you have a specific interest in birdwatching, photography, or want to spend more time at a particular archaeological site, we can tailor a private itinerary to suit your needs and pace.

We offer various levels of difficulty. For families and seniors, we recommend the Machu Picchu by Train or Sacred Valley tours, which involve less strenuous walking. For trekking, we suggest a private service so the pace can be adjusted to the comfort of the younger or older members of your group.

As stated in our mission, we work closely with local communities and follow “Leave No Trace” principles on all our treks. We prioritize eco-friendly transportation and ensure that our operations respect the cultural and natural heritage of the Andean region to minimize our environmental footprint.

Safety is our top priority. In the event of heavy rain, landslides, or local strikes that might affect transportation, our Operations Coordinator (Luis Martínez) and his team will rearrange the logistics to ensure you reach your destination safely or provide alternative routes of equal value.
